From a blooming then scattering plum blossom, to the swiftly changing atmospheric phenomena of haze, mist and rainbows, the short life span of insects,
or the transient interweaving of light and shadow in a spectacle, these suggest the ’fleeting and transient’ motif revealed in much Japanese art.
The present exhibition will seek out the mutual similarities found in the beauty of the ’fleeting and transient’ expressed through images from the collection.
Works by Murakami Kagaku, Ikeda Yoson, and Kitawaki Noboru among others will be exhibited.
