Abbreviated Crest |
Kyoto City's Crest came into being on 1 January, 1960. The design of the
crest consists of a miniaturized version of the Kyoto emblem, originally decided
on 2 October, 1891. This is encircled by an arabesque rendition of a wheel from
the court carriage. The emblem is depicted in gold, and the wheel in purple, symbolic
of the old capital. |
