Kento is a 17-year-old boy who comes from Saga Prefecture, the Kyushu Island. Admiring his father who was a chef of Japanese-style cuisine, he has decided to become a cook himself. As a dishwasher, he started the training two years ago. Now he has become entrusted with preparing various ingredients for cooking. One day his boss strongly urged him by saying, "There are such good ingredients as Kyo-yasai or Kyoto vegetables. You must work hard to become a chef who can make good use of such excellent vegetables." What should I do to understand Kyo-yasai to utilize them in my cooking? Kento will work hard to acquire a good knowledge of Kyo-yasai by "Kyo-yasai Catcher" and make Kyo-bento or Kyoto-style box lunches which he has been pursuing. Can Kent, who is currently studying to become a cook for Japanese cuisine,catch Kyoto Vegetables? If he failed and caught either a blank ghost or a soccer ball, a flag-raising game is awaiting him. If you can arrange three (3) pieces of the same Kyoto Vegetable together, you are ready for the challenge "Making the Kyo-Bento" that you dreamed of! The secret of success is to aim at three (3) pieces of Kyoto Vegetables that are in the case. Whether Kent can become a full-fledged cook or not truly depends upon these skills.

There is a bento-box with four (4) sections in it on the top and on the left side. Please select the cuisine (ingredients) from the menu on top on the right side and click to move the rice, the grilled food, the vegetables with Japanese dressing and the vinegared food to the spot where each one of them is designated. If you place the arrow of the mouse on certain cuisine, you will see the explanations about the cuisine and its recipe on the bottom on the right side. We have one (1) picture of rice, three (3) pictures of vegetables and seafood (or others) cooked together, two (2) pictures of grilled food and one (1) picture of vegetables with Japanese dressing and vinegared food. When you have finished filling the bento box with all the items, click "DONE." Let's see how you did it! Your cooking sense will be tested in three (3) ways - "bento-appealing visual presentation course," "nutritionally-balanced course" and "creative bento course."
