The 13th World Conference of Historical Cities was successfully held in Hue, Vietnam from 16 to 18 April 2012. More than 300 people from 30 cities gathered from all over the world and had discussions under the theme of "Defining Universal Heritage Challenges and Solutions".
The Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities has approved three historical cities as new member cities of the League : Hebron (Palestine), Kutaisi (Georgia) and Tainan (Chinese Taipei). The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities has increased to 95 cities from 59 countries and regions.
The Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities has approved the City of Cape Town (South Africa) as a new member city of the League. The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities has increased to 92 cities from 57 countries.
The 13th World Conference of Historical Cities will be held in Hue, Vietnam from 16 to 18 April 2012 (Pre-conference event will be provided on 15 April). The main theme of the Conference is "Defining Universal Heritage Challenges and Solutions".
The Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities has approved three historical cities as new member cities of the League : Ankara (Turkey) , Sanliurfa (Turkey), and Termez (Uzbekistan) . The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities has increased to 91 cities from 56 countries.
The City of Zurich (Switzerland) has withdrawn her membership from the League of Historical Cities. The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities decreased to 88 cities from 56 countries.
The Board of Directors' Meeting of the League of Historical Cities was held in Nara, Japan on October 14 2010 and approved that the City of Hue, Vietnam will host the 13th World Conference of Historical Cities in 2012. The outline of the 13th Conference will be discussed in the Board of Directors' Meeting to be held in 2011 in Hue.
Election for the principal officers of the League of Historical Cities upon the expiration of the term was held in the General Assembly of the League on October 14. The results are as follows:

*Vienna and Xian have been appointed as Vice Chairpersons.

The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities has increased to 89 cities from 56 countries.

The Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities has approved four historical cities as new member cities of the League : Constanta (Romania) , Kanazawa (Japan), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Veliko Turnovo (Bulgaria) . The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities has increased to 84 cities from 55 countries.
The Board of Directors of the League of Historical Cities has approved two historical cities as new member cities of the League : Nis(Serbia) and Yangzhou (China) . The number of the member cities of the League of Historical Cities has increased to 80 cities from 53 countries.
